Optimise your launch

Launching a new product in the NHS is a complex and high-stakes undertaking for pharmaceutical companies. Success requires more than regulatory approval; companies must navigate a challenging landscape of evolving reimbursement models, regional decision-making, and increasing demands for clinical and economic value.  With the right support and insight, your team can anticipate challenges, optimise pathways, and deliver launches that are both timely and effective.

With limited windows for market impact, a well-executed launch strategy is essential. Delays or missteps can lead to slow uptake, even for highly effective therapies. The NHS's structure and priorities—such as cost-effectiveness, integrated care, and outcomes-based delivery—demand early, coordinated planning.

Thorough preparation is key. This includes strategic insight development, stakeholder engagement, alignment across commercial and medical functions, and a tailored approach to market access. A strong launch plan ensures the product is positioned to meet NHS needs from day one, driving adoption and long-term success.

I have been involved in several key launches, including the CFTR modulator portfolio for Cystic Fibrosis, which has been recognised as one of the most successful launches in NHS history, resulting in sales in excess £450 million and cementing the reputation of the pharmaceutical company involved as pioneers in their field.

I also was critical to the strategic planning  and launch of the first ever peanut desensitisation therapy to be available on the NHS resulting in 1,000s of children being treated with this therapy, and experiencing life changing improvements.

Case Study

Leo engaged me to provide strategic support for the launch of a new product for Chronic Hand Eczema , ensuring thorough preparation across all functions. I worked closely with sales, market access, and finance teams to shape a well-structured launch plan aligned with wider business goals. My role included identifying gaps, stress-testing key elements, and challenging assumptions to bring fresh, critical thinking. By leveraging cross-functional collaboration, I helped strengthen the strategy and position the product for both immediate impact and long-term success
